No, the name that Shakira and her boyfriend, Gerard Piqué, have reportedly picked for their baby boy was not inspired by Justin Timberlake’s fiance (at least we don’t think it was …). But it certainly may sound like it.
According to Puerto-Rican publication El Nuevo Día, the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer will be naming her baby Biel, a diminutive of Gabriel. The moniker was reportedly chosen by Shakira’s Spanish footballer beau.
The singer showed off her baby bump on stage Saturday (Oct. 13) night at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup closing ceremony in Baku, Azerbaijan — her first performance since announcing her pregnancy in mid-September on her blog.
“In a few minutes it will be our baby’s first time on stage and precisely at a football event! Magic,” the singer tweets Saturday.
She also performed the next night at Baku’s Crystal Hall, posting the photo above afterward along with the tweet, “I felt awesome on stage! We really enjoyed tonight!”
